Poetry by Jambo Stewart
I’d be awestruck
If I had the luck
And won the lottery
But what I’d do
I haven’t a clue
And would it change me?
Would several million
Or a couple of billion
Change my entire outlook?
Would cashmere rugs
And high-end drugs
Get me on the hook?
Would I be dead within a year?
That’s something I fear
About getting rich overnight
Would I lose myself?
Would it affect my mental health?
Would I lose my struggle and fight.
I might lose my passion
In an apathetic fashion
And stop doing what I love?
Would it drive me to hate
Receiving letters by the crate
From beggars everyday?
Perhaps I would hide
But I’ll err on the safe side
And decide not to play

How delightful and sadly all to accurate about the outcome of ‘winning’ … heard most big lottery winners are broke within a year. No idea how to handle it all and make too many unwise choices, so you have nailed it.

Thanks for your comment Ginger. I’ve always figured I’d go crazy if I was given so much money in one go.
Thanks for reading, I’m glad you enjoyed it =)
