Inspiration can hit at any time and place. Many writers fall into the trap of ‘waiting for inspiration’, when in fact inspiration is everywhere, you just have to go looking. Doing something different, anything different, generally stirs up some creative juices for me. At the very least, it improves the chances for inspiration.
One such nugget of inspiration came from a woman named Acacia. I’d never met her before this day in a busy high street where she was raising money for charity, direct marketing. I stopped to talk because she seemed interesting, and we discussed her traveling experiences. I never expected a twenty minute chat with a stranger to lead me to a story, but it did. I penned Space in the Office in about an hour when I reached home. I was pretty proud of it.
