Poetry response to today’s Daily Prompt
Don’t hesitate
To procreate
Or blame your current financial state
To justify anxiety
You have about proprietary
Or your overall impact on society.
If you think we’ll overpopulate
Or worry about the current debate
You’ll find one day you’re one year late
To make the great decision
That most of us envision
Haploid gamete collision.
Don’t hesitate!

You’re not that old yet!

True.
Age isn’t my problem. My problem is the rate at which time seems to be speeding up. I swear I was 24 last year? I’m 29 soon.

Interesting. I remember working with a women who said that she and her husband were considering having a child. That, or buying a boat. They bought the boat. I occasionally wonder if they ever second-guessed their decision. They were not very young, either. “You’ll find one day you’re one year late.” Not a judgment call, just curious.

I cannot imagine that decision would ever be entirely free from doubt.
This poem was a reflection of advice people have given me this past year.
